Kenin vs Kasatkina: prediction for the WTA Sydney match
A former World No. 4 player and a winner of 2020 Australian Open got into a long slump and so far she is unable to get back into the Top-10. In the previous season Sofia Kenin won only 11 matches and suffered 10 defeats.
Kenin started the new season with hopes to improve her performance. Kenin put up a decent performance at Adelaide last week. She managed to beat Bronzetti (7:5, 7:5) and Tomljanovic (3:6, 7:6, 6:3). In the quarter-final Kenin was defeated by the eventual winner of that competition, Ashleigh Barty (3:6, 4:6).
In the previous season Daria Kasatkina managed to put up a wonderful performance and won two titles at Melbourne and Saint Petersburg.
First matches of the new season were ambigious for Kasatkina. Russian player reached the semi-final, recorded a victory over the uncomfortable opponent, Madison Keyes (7:6, 2:6, 3:6). But Kasatkina put up a very weak performance in the semi-final against Anisimova (2:6, 0:6). Probably she is not in a perfect shape yet at the start of the season.
This bet played in each of two most recent head-to-head matches
Kenin won two most recent head-to-head matches in three sets
Both players gained some match practice last week. We can't say that Kasatkina and Kenin put up a wonderful performance, Russian player completely failed the match against Anisimova. Kenin recorded two victories over Kasatkina in her career and we are expecting another one from the American player at Sydney.
Our prediction - Kenin to win
Opponents are pretty even and the history of head-to-head matches proves that. Kenin recorded both victories over Kasatkina with a 2:1 score on sets. We are expecting another tight clash at Sydney.
Our second bet is on total over 21 games
